Veyage Beacon Call Alerts Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026
Veyage Beacon Call Alerts is a browser extension for users of the Veyage Beacon web
softphone at https://beacon.veyage.io.
Data handling
The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information or browsing data. It receives an incoming-call signal and caller display text from the Veyage Beacon page and uses that information only to show the alert locally in the user's browser.
The extension uses Chrome session storage only to retain the identifier of its temporary alert window and the caller text currently shown in it. This allows the alert to close when ringing stops, and to be re-labelled when the caller's name arrives a moment after the call starts ringing. Both values remain on the user's device and are removed when the alert closes or the browser session ends. Neither is ever written to disk or transmitted.
Permissions
The extension runs only on https://beacon.veyage.io. It does not access other
websites. It contains all executable code in the extension package and does not load or
execute remote code.
The scripting permission is used for one purpose: after the extension is
installed or updated, it reinjects its own bundled content.js into already-open
https://beacon.veyage.io tabs, which Chrome would otherwise leave without a
working alert until the page is reloaded. No script is injected into any other site, and
injection neither reads nor transmits page content.
Third parties
The extension does not transfer user data to third parties and does not use data for advertising, analytics, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to incoming-call alerts.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the extension's functionality or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are published.
